Hear to Learn
Our Mission
Hear to Learn is our school-based outreach initiative, ensuring children are not left behind due to undiagnosed or untreated hearing loss. The program provides free hearing screenings, education, and LexCare team1-on-1 support, giving students and families access to the resources they need to succeed academically and socially.

Our Track Record
For more than a decade, LexCare Hearing Foundation has proven that early detection changes lives. From reaching over 10,000 children in schools and children’s charities, to piloting Hear to Learn in Metro Nashville Public Schools in 2021, to preparing for major expansion in 2025–26, our track record shows both impact and momentum.

10 Years, 10,000 Children
Over the past 10 years, LexCare Hearing Foundation has served 10,000+ children through screenings and support at schools and children’s charities nationwide.

Proven in Nashville Schools
In 2021, we launched a proof of concept with Metro Nashville Public Schools, reaching 10 schools and demonstrating the power of early detection, Care Team support/guided care, data collection and reporting.

Expanding Nationwide
With funding secured in 2025–26, Hear to Learn will expand across MNPS and prepare to build a model for success, scale into additional states, bringing access to thousands more students.

-
1 in 5 children experiences some degree of hearing difficulty, yet many schools lack consistent hearing health services.
-
Children with even mild to moderate hearing loss often score significantly lower on language and literacy tests compared to their peers with typical hearing.
-
Untreated hearing loss can impact speech, language, learning, and social development.
-
Early detection and intervention are critical: students with timely support can thrive in school and beyond.
-
Our data shows the LexCare Team is reducing “loss to follow up” connecting children to quality hearing solutions, speech services, and brighter futures.
Why It Matters
What We Do
1
On-Site Screenings
We bring portable hearing screening equipment to schools for quick, reliable testing. Often, metro and rural schools lack resources and staffing to regularly conduct the screenings. We do all the heavy lifting.
2
Education
A hearing screening begins the conversation. We not only track data and insights on each student, demographic and school, but we engage staff to become “hearoes”. Teachers, staff, and parents receive guidance on signs of hearing loss and next steps. Due to communication barriers and access, this step is critical for continuum of care.
3
LexCare Support, Lifetime Care
One child is one child. Families are connected to LexCare’s Care Team for insurance reviews, referrals, and guidance in accessing hearing care. We create tailored, 1-on-1 support for each child. But the care doesn’t stop there. We support them for a lifetime. We never leave.
